Ho Chi Minh's original name was Zhuang Bicheng, and his father, Zhuang Shenhui, was a patriotic Sinologist. Ho Chi Minh sought from childhood to expel French colonists and free his compatriots.

In early 1919, when Versailles Peace Conference was held, Ho Chi Minh appointed Nguyen Aiguo as representative of Vietnamese patriots in France and presented a memorandum to delegations from different countries, in which he put forward famous "eight demands for rights of all nations." Ask French government to recognize freedom, democracy, equality and self-determination of Vietnamese nation. The eight demands were printed as leaflets, widely distributed, and sent back to Vietnam. In 1920, Ho Chi Minh joined French Communist Party and became first communist in Vietnam. In 1923 he went to Soviet Union to participate in International Peasant Congress and Fifth Congress of Communist International. In 1925, a training class for Vietnamese youth was held in Guangzhou, China, Association of Vietnamese Revolutionary Comrades was founded, and Youth Weekly was published as official newspaper. In 1930, Communist Party of Vietnam (later renamed Communist Party of Indochina) was established in Hong Kong. In 1941, he organized Vietnam Independence League and led anti-French and anti-Japanese struggle.

After fall of France in June 1940, Japan occupied northern Indochina in September, and situation in Vietnam changed dramatically. At end of December 1940, he returned to Vietnamese-Chinese border and conducted a training course using "Road to Liberation" as teaching material. On February 8, 1941, he returned to northern slope of Caobin Province and took name Qiu Weng to convene a meeting of Central Committee of Party, train personnel, and directly supervise experimental work to establish the National Salvation Congress in Caobin Province. .

Ho Chi Minh went to China for help

August 13, 1942, he arrived in China and made contact with Vietnamese anti-Japanese revolutionary forces. He was arrested by local Kuomintang government as soon as he arrived in Jingxi County, Guangxi Province. Since then, he has been incarcerated. in 18 prisons in 13 Guangxi counties for 13 months. After his release, he immediately contacted various local Vietnamese nationalist national salvation organizations.

Germany capitulated in May 1945, with Viet Minh in control of most of country. Ho Chi Minh pointed out in time that conditions were ripe for a general uprising. At his suggestion, a national party conference was held on August 13-15 in Xinchao, Tuyen Quang Province.

In mid-August, a provisional government was elected under chairmanship of Ho Chi Minh. Subsequently, under leadership of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese people began "August Revolution" to liberate all of Vietnam.

On September 2, at Basian Square, he read out Declaration of Independence on behalf of Provisional Government, which solemnly proclaimed birth of Democratic Republic of Vietnam. In March 1946, he was elected Chairman and Prime Minister of Provisional Government. Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

In February 1951, Vietnam Workers' Party was officially established and he was elected chairman of Central Committee.

From 1945 to 1954, Ho Chi Minh, as leader of Vietnamese party and government, led Vietnamese people to fight to defend revolutionary regime and achieved a major victory in War of Resistance against France.

From 1954 to 1965, he led socialist revolution in North Vietnam and struggle for reunification of Motherland. In 1960s, he led people to fight against United States and save country.
